A man in Tamil Nadu’s Kallakurichi district killed his wife and her alleged lover on Tuesday night, beheaded them, and rode to Vellore Central Jail with their severed heads tied to his two-wheeler before surrendering. The accused, identified as Kolanji, suspected his wife Lakshmi was having an affair with a man named Thangarasu.
According to India Today, Kolanji pretended to be away from home and returned to find his wife and her lover together on the terrace. He attacked them with a sickle, killed them, and severed their heads.
He then tied the heads to his vehicle and rode nearly 100 km to Vellore Central Jail, where he surrendered. Vanjaram police recovered the headless bodies from the house and arrested him.
The couple’s three daughters have been sent to live with relatives. Kolanji remains in judicial custody.

In June, a man named Shankar was arrested near Bengaluru for allegedly beheading his wife Manasa over a suspected extra-marital affair. After the murder, he rode to Suryanagar Police Station with her severed head and confessed.
The couple, married for five years, had a four-year-old daughter. Both worked in private firms. During interrogation, Shankar told police that recently, he discovered that his wife had an affair with someone else, and this led to a quarrel between them, following which she went to her mother's house.
On Friday, around 8 pm, she returned home to work out a compromise, citing their daughter as a reason. She also denied her involvement in any extra-marital affair, a senior police officer said.
The couple again indulged in a heated argument. During the quarrel, he took a sickle and beheaded her. He left the rest of her body inside the house and travelled with her severed head on a scooter to the police station, the officer said.
