Madhya Pradesh is referred to as the Tiger State in India, which gives some of the best wildlife experiences in India. Its Tiger reserves are a combination of dense forests, varied habitats and planned safari areas, hence good for the sighting of big cats.

1. Kanha Tiger Reserve
Kanha is one of the largest in India, it is known because of its large sal forests and grasslands. It provides a total wildlife experience, harbouring Bengal tigers, barasinghas, leopards and a very diverse birdlife.

2. Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve
Bandhavgarh is known to have a large concentration of tigers and has rugged hills, grasslands and an ancient fort. Its game reserves also offer the best opportunity of seeing tigers and other predators in the dry season.

3. Pench Tiger Reserve
Pench is a combination of teak forests, meadows and riverbeds that cover Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. It also favours leopards, wild dogs, and rich bird species besides tigers, hence ideal for the photographer.

4. Panna Tiger Reserve
Panna is the first of its kind to restore its population by conservation after it was robbed of tigers. Ken River passes through the dramatic scenery inhabited by gharials, leopards and various types of birds.

5. Satpura Tiger Reserve
Satpura is more interactive and has walking safaris, canoe rides and night drives. Its rocky nature, gorges and forests offer a real wilderness experience that is not felt in other jeep tours.

6. Sanjay-Dubri Tiger Reserve
It is a less popular reserve in the Sidhi district, and is treasured on account of its calmness and purity of sal woods. There are tigers, leopards and sloth bears here.

7. Tiger Reserve of Veerangana Durgavati.
This reserve, which is a new addition to the conserved areas of the state, connects significant animal ecosystems. Its dry deciduous forests and rolling hills are still emerging as a tiger tourism destination.

All of these seven reserves demonstrate that Madhya Pradesh possesses the most significant tiger heritage. It is possible to visit any time of year, but the period of time when the safaris are open and the game has the highest population is between October and June.
