American chip-maker Intel is set to make a big splash in the automotive industry with the announcement of specialized AI chips based on their PC AI technology.
Chinese automaker Zeekr will be the first to use Intel's AI system on chip (SoC) to bundle AI voice assistants and video conferencing in their cars.

The company also launched the Intel Core Gen 14 processors for mobile and gaming desktops. The mobile line-up is headlined by the Intel Core i9-14900HX that features 24-cores and a turbo frequency of up to 5.8 GHz. The chip is designed for gaming enthusiast grade laptops and supports up to 192GB of DDR5 RAM.
It also supports Thunderbolt 4 and 5, Wi-Fi 6E and 7, along with Bluetooth 5.4 and 5.4. Intel says that over 60 new laptops from hardware partners using the 14th Gen HX processors will hit store shelves this year.

On the desktop side of things is the Core i9-14900 with 24-cores and 5.8 GHz turbo frequency. A step down is the Core i7-14700 with 20-cores. Intel says the new line-up is up to 37 percent faster than the previous generation.
The entire line-up of 13 new processors for desktop is up for sale right now at online and retail stores.
Besides this is the Intel Core mobile processor Series 1 family led by the Intel Core 7 processor with 10-cores and a turbo frequency of 5.4 GHz. These chipsets have been designed for thin and light systems and are set to arrive in the first quarter of 2024.
