Kim Namjoon turns 31: BTS RM debuts blonde hair on his birthday, donates 200 million won to medical centres

BTS member and leader RM, aka Kim Namjoon, is celebrating his 31st birthday on September 12. The singer has recently reflected on his birthday celebration with his ARMY.

He took to his Instagram Story and delighted his fans with a mirror selfie of himself. The singer debuted his blonde hair on his birthday. He kicked off the celebration with an early birthday dinner at the Mosu Seoul restaurant. He captioned the picture, “Thank you. I miss you all.”

He also shared a picture of his purple birthday cake. He also re-shared some of the birthday tributes penned by his fans.

Additionally, RM, who is known for his philanthropic work, has recently donated 100 million won each to Seoul Asan Medical Centre and Korea University Medical Centre to mark his birthday.

The reports have suggested that the hospitals plan to use RM’s donation to support treatment and surgery costs for economically vulnerable or underprivileged patients.

According to The Chosun Daily, RM said in the statement, “I decided to donate in the hopes that it would provide a small but warm hope to patients. It's meaningful to be able to participate, even if only a little, in spreading the value of medical advancement and respect for life.”

The report also stated that Korea University Medical Centre intends to improve the treatment environment and increase the range of medical services, while Seoul Asan Medical Centre will use it for patients from disadvantaged backgrounds.

RM also donated 100 million won to the Everyone's Veterans Dream initiative, which is a component of the Uniform Worker Appreciation Campaign run by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, on his birthday last year. It was to support people who "have received, and continue to receive, the national merit alongside bereaved families of uniformed service members".

RM has recently returned from his mandatory military services and is working on the BTS comeback album with his band members, including Jin, Jimin, V, J-Hope, Suga and Jungkook.
