BTS fans slam critics of Kim Taehyung after recent WeVerse live; say, 'His impact is untouchable'

BTS' Kim Taehyung, aka V's latest WeVerse live has sparked an outpouring of fan support after some users criticised his visuals. During the live session, fans praised his bare-faced, laid-back look, while others were quick to call out the unnecessary negativity, calling it jealousy disguised as commentary.

In clips from the broadcast, V appeared relaxed and makeup-free. Several fans gushed that his minimal look did nothing to dull his appeal; in fact, it amplified it. "Y’all can’t STAND that he’s beautiful," one fan wrote on social media, defending him from those who questioned or downplayed his looks.

He explained, “I am a fan of the group Brown Eyed Soul … I turned on the live to express and share with you their songs as a long time fan.” An admirer said, “HOW COME HE IS SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL BY HEART TOO! … THERE’S NOTHING LIKE HIM … HE’S ETHEREAL.”

His fans also rallied around his gentle, genuine nature. On X (formerly Twitter), comments like “He is so precious” and “His impact is untouchable” have taken over, as supporters defend him not just against criticism of his looks, but also against attempts to frame his behaviour as “fan service.”

Interestingly, at one moment during the live, V also slipped into Chinese and delivered a string of romantic one-liners that immediately sent fans into meltdown. Although the specific lines weren’t subtitles-verified on the platform, viewers noted that the tone, delivery, and context felt surprisingly intimate. Some jokingly speculated about who exactly he was speaking to. Many fans believed V was simply addressing Chinese ARMYs affectionately, especially since he often switches languages to connect with international fans. However, corners of the fandom couldn’t help but read deeper into the sudden “love confession,” sparking theories, playful edits, and even trend hashtags within minutes of the broadcast ending.
