The panel investing the Visakhapatnam gas leak has suggested setting up factory safety boards at the central and state levels to revamp factory safety norms in the country.
"A total of twelve members including the CEO and two directors were arrested on Tuesday evening," said Rajiv Kumar Meena, police commissioner of the southern port city of Visakhapatnam, in Andhra Pradesh state.
The Sainor Life Sciences factory was immediately shut down as a precautionary measure after a gas leak was detected at 11.30 pm on June 29.
The court had ordered the company's directors not to leave the country without court's permission and instructed the authorities not to release their surrendered passports without its permission.

The styrene gas has grabbed headlines after it leaked from a LG Polymers plant in Visakhapatnam in the early hours of May 7.
"This chemical, used for reducing the effects of gas in the air after a leak, is manufactured only in Vapi. The Andhra Pradesh government requested Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani to facilitate airlifting of the chemical from Vapi to be sent there as soon as possible," Ashwani Kumar, secretary in the Gujarat chief minister's office said.
The gas leaked from LG Polymers, a styrene plant owned and managed by South Korean chemical company LG Chem Limited.
