'Could have lost his eyesight, has gone to UK for treatment': AAP leader shares big update on Raghav Chadha

Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bharadwaj on Tuesday provided an update on the whereabouts of Raghav Chadha, saying that the Rajya Sabha member is in the UK for his eye treatment.

"He is in the UK; there was a complication in his eyes and I was told that it was quite critical that he could have lost his eyesight as well. He has gone there to get treatment. I have my best wishes with him," Bharadwaj told news agency ANI.

Bharadwaj further mentioned that as soon as Chadha gets better, he will be back in India and join the party in election campaigning.

Questions are being raised since the last few days over the absence of Chadha at a crucial time for AAP -- especially with arrest of the party's supremo Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy case as well as the ongoing Lok Sabha elections 2024.

Having said that, Chadha, the Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab has been regularly posting snippets -- of the party's rallies as well as Sunita Kejriwal's addresses -- from his social media account.

"Arvind Kejriwal has been a diabetic patient for many years. Kejriwal is on 54 units of insulin every day. It is being said that the administration in the jail is not giving him insulin. This is extremely inhumane and against prison rules," Chadha posted on X on April 18.

Recently, there was a storm after Chadha met British Labour MP Preet K Gill, known for her "advocacy of Khalistan separatism" and anti-India sentiments on social media.

"Sunita Kejriwal, wife of jailed Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, says, “There are several forces within and outside India that are weakening the country. We have to be alert, identify these forces and defeat them...” Agree with her completely," said BJP IT department head Amit Malviya on X.

"She may want to explain what is AAP MP Raghav Chadha doing with British Labour MP Preet K Gill, who openly advocates K separatism, mobilises funds for Ks in UK, funds violent protests outside India House in London, constantly posts anti-India, anti-Modi, anti-Hindu stuff on her social media accounts?," he said.

"Elections have been announced in India. But Raghav Chadha, Arvind Kejriwal’s blue eyed boy, is in London! Why? Why is Chadha in touch with Preet Gill?," said Malviya.
