Brides are rewriting the jewellery rulebook. Jewellery shopping for a wedding day is not about donning chunky, heavy gold. Today, subtlety is in fashion. The minimalist bride of 2025 is all about refined, wearable pieces that amps up her ensemble rather than overpower it.
Soft gold, subtle glamour
Gone are the days of chunky gold sets stretching from neck to wrist. Today’s brides favour pieces that are refined and wearable, yet timeless. “Brides are looking for jewellery that speaks softly but leaves a lasting impression,” Dishi Somani, founder of DishiS Designer Jewellery, tells Moneycontrol.

“Gold is no longer just a symbol of wealth; it’s artistry, subtle glamour, and wearable sophistication,” she adds. Trendy pieces include, a single-strand gold chain with a lotus pendant, multi-strand delicate chains that layer effortlessly, or a lightweight choker with fine filigree work. “One statement necklace can become the focal point of a pared-back look, proving less really can be more,” Somani says.
Understated sparkle
Diamond and gemstone accents provide a touch of shine without stealing the show. “Brides prefer tiny solitaire studs, gemstone-accented pendants like emerald or ruby drops, and thin diamond bracelets for subtle elegance. The goal is jewellery that complements the dress, not competes with it,” says Somani.
Modern temple jewellery pieces like miniature goddess pendants, delicate temple-inspired earrings, and slim bracelets featuring peacocks or floral motifs let brides embrace tradition while keeping pieces light and versatile.

Statement earrings and modular magic
While subtlety dominates, sometimes one bold piece is all it takes. Long danglers, ornate but lightweight jhumkas, or asymmetrical ear cuffs add drama without overwhelming the ensemble. Modular designs, says Somani, are a growing favourite. “Add swappable mangalsutras, convertible necklaces, and mix-and-match rings, all of these allow brides to express personal style while creating pieces that can be worn long after the wedding day,” she says.
The 2025 brides want jewellery that feels personal, practical, and appealing. It’s about celebrating craftsmanship and heritage without burdening the wearer.
