PM Modi in Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate five new dairy projects on February 22, including a modern cheese plant of Sabar Dairy with an investment of Rs 600 crore, a long-life tetra pack milk plant of Amul Dairy at Anand, and the expansion of its chocolate plant.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced his two-day visit to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh on February 22. During this visit, PM Modi is set to inaugurate developmental projects totalling Rs 60,000 crore across the two states, according to a press released by the Prime Minister's Office. These projects are aimed at enhancing infrastructure and driving growth and progress in the regions.

PM Modi Attends Golden Jubilee of GCMMF

PM Modi began his visit from Ahmedabad, participating in the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) at Narendra Modi Stadium. Additionally, he will engage with several farmers at various events in the state on February 22.

"I will be on a two-day visit to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh starting tomorrow, 22nd February. Tomorrow's programmes will be in different parts of Gujarat. In Ahmedabad, I will take part in the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation in the presence of several farmers from different parts of the state," the PM wrote on his official social media platform X.

“Later, I will be attending programmes in Mehsana and Navsari where key projects will be inaugurated pertaining to connectivity, infrastructure, urban development, textiles and more,” the PM further said.

Over 1.25 Lakh Dairy Farmers Expected to Attend the Event

10:45 am: PM will participate in the golden jubilee celebration of the GCMMF, which owns the Amul brand. The event will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad's Motera area. More than 1.25 lakh dairy farmers and representatives from around 18,600 villages in the state will be present.

PM to Inaugurate Five Projects Worth Rs 1,200 Crore

During the event, the PM will inaugurate five projects worth Rs 1,200 crore. Additionally, the GCMMF's vision for the next 25 years will be discussed. Jayen Mehta, the managing director of GCMMF, will likely address the gathering and provide insights into the federation's future plans.

Amul Set to Achieve Rs 80,000 Crore Turnover

The GCMMF, in its last 50 years, has established itself as India's leading FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) organisation. The iconic 'Amul' brand is poised to achieve a turnover of Rs 80,000 crore, while the Amul Federation is expected to reach a turnover of Rs 61,000 crore in the current financial year. This remarkable growth highlights the significant contribution of the dairy sector to India's economy and highlights the success story of the cooperative movement in Gujarat.

During his visit, PM Modi will inaugurate five significant dairy projects, each contributing to the growth and modernisation of the dairy sector:

(1) Modern Cheese Plant of Sabar Dairy: With an investment of Rs 600 crore, Sabar Dairy's modern cheese plant represents a significant step towards enhancing dairy processing capabilities and meeting the growing demand for dairy products.

(2) Long-life Tetra Pack Milk Plant of Amul Dairy at Anand: The inauguration of the long-life tetra pack milk plant at Amul Dairy in Anand will further strengthen the dairy processing infrastructure and enable the production of high-quality milk products.

(3) Expansion of Chocolate Plant at Amul Dairy: The expansion of the chocolate plant at Amul Dairy signifies a commitment to innovation and meeting consumer preferences, especially in the confectionery segment.

(4) Ice Cream Plant of Sarhad Dairy in Kutch: The inauguration of the ice cream plant at Sarhad Dairy in Kutch will enhance the production capacity of ice cream products, catering to the increasing demand for frozen desserts.

(5) Unit of Bharuch Dairy in Mumbai: The establishment of a unit of Bharuch Dairy in Mumbai will facilitate the distribution and availability of dairy products in urban markets, contributing to the expansion of the dairy industry's footprint.

Additionally, various dairy development works under government schemes in the Saurashtra-Kutch region will be inaugurated by the PM, emphasising the government's pledge to the holistic growth of the dairy sector across different regions of the state.

PM Modi to Visit Mahesana, Offer Puja at Valinath Mahadev Temple

At 12:45 pm, the PM will arrive in Mahesana, where he will participate in religious rituals including 'puja' and 'darshan' at the Valinath Mahadev temple. This visit highlights PM Modi'a engagement with spiritual and cultural aspects of Gujarat, reflecting the significance of religious sites in the state.

PM to Inaugurate, Lay Foundation Stone for Projects Worth Rs 8,350 Crore

At 1:00 pm, PM Modi will participate in a public function in Mahesana's Tarabh. During this event, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development projects valued at more than Rs 8,350 crore. These projects are aimed at fostering economic growth, infrastructure development, and overall progress in the region.

In Tarabh, the PM will also dedicate several significant projects to the nation, including Bharat Net Phase-II – Gujarat Fibre Grid Network Limited, aimed at providing high-speed internet to over 8,000 gram panchayats. Additionally, multiple projects for rail line doubling, gauge conversion, new broad-gauge lines in Mahesana and Banaskantha districts, and other road projects will be inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid.

PM to Inaugurate and Lay Foundation Stones for Projects Worth Rs 17,500 Crore in Navsari

At 4:15 pm, the PM will inaugurate, lay foundation stones, and initiate work on several developmental projects worth around Rs 17,500 crore in Navsari.

PM to Visit Kakrapar Atomic Power Station

At 6:15 pm, the PM will visit the Kakrapar Atomic Power Station and dedicate two new Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs) to the nation.

PM Modi to Arrive in Varanasi on Feb 23 for Prize Distribution Event at BHU

PM Modi will arrive in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh on February 23 morning to attend a prize distribution event at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Additionally, he will visit the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali to perform puja.

Here is the schedule for PM Modi's visit to Varanasi:

At 11:15 am: Perform puja and darshan at the Sant Guru Ravidas Janmasthali.

At 11:30 am: Attend a public function commemorating the 647th anniversary of Sant Guru Ravidas.

At noon: Attend a public function to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development projects worth over Rs 13,000 crore in Varanasi.
