'Have only cut ties with brother': Rohini Acharya clarifies, says father Lalu Yadav 'always by my side'

In a series of emotional posts, Rohini alleged she was subjected to filthy abuses and that someone even attempted to hit her with a slipper during a confrontation involving two of Tejashwi Yadav’s closest aides, Sanjay Yadav, the RJD’s Rajya Sabha MP, and Rameez, a long-time associate.

As the crisis inside the Prasad Yadav household intensifies after Rohini Acharya’s explosive public outburst and her decision to sever ties with the family, Rohini on Sunday clarified that she hasn't disowned her family, asserting that it's only her brother that she has cut ties with.

With tears in her eyes, responding to questions about her charges, Rohini said her father has always been by my side. "My parents and my sisters were crying for me yesterday. I am blessed to have parents like them," she remarked according to NDTV.

On Sunday, three more daughters of the RJD chief, Rajlakshmi, Ragini, and Chanda, left the family’s Patna residence with their children and travelled to Delhi, indicating a widening rupture within Bihar’s most influential political family.

The internal implosion began when Rohini Acharya, Lalu Prasad’s Singapore-based daughter and a doctor by profession, declared she was quitting politics and disowning her family. Her announcement came just hours after the RJD’s election defeat.

She wrote that she was “torn away from her family”, left her parents “crying”, and was accused of having “taken crores” after donating a kidney to Lalu Yadav, a claim she called deeply insulting.

On Friday, the ruling NDA decimated the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan to retain power by securing a thumping "200 paar" win with 202 seats in the 243-member Bihar assembly. The RJD's seat tally dropped to 24 from 75 in the last assembly elections.

Rohini’s allegations drew a dramatic response from her elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav, who was expelled from both the party and the family earlier this year.

Tej Pratap posted a blistering message through the Janshakti Janata Dal’s social media account, saying the episode had “shaken [his] heart to the core”. He said he had tolerated many attacks against himself, but the humiliation of his sister was “unbearable under any circumstances”.
