India and Ukraine sign multiple agreements to boost cooperation in agriculture, health, culture, and humanitarian aid

An MoU between the Indian and Ukraine establishes a framework for India to provide grant assistance for High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) in Ukraine.

In a significant step towards strengthening bilateral ties, India and Ukraine signed several key agreements during the official visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Ukraine. The agreements span diverse fields such as agriculture, food industry, medical products regulation, community development, and cultural cooperation, further cementing the partnership between the two nations.

The agreements reflect the growing cooperation between India and Ukraine across diverse sectors and underline the commitment of both nations to deepen their strategic partnership for mutual benefit.

Agriculture and Food industry cooperation

The Government of India and the Government of Ukraine inked an agreement focused on expanding collaboration in agriculture and the food industry. This will foster information exchange, joint scientific research, and create joint working groups to enhance mutual cooperation in the field.

Medical products regulation

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between India's Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation and Ukraine's State Service on Medicines and Drugs Control. The MoU aims to regulate medical products, ensuring enhanced safety and quality through capacity building, workshops, and exchanges of visits between the two nations.

Humanitarian grant assistance for development projects

Another MoU between the Indian and Ukraine establishes a framework for India to provide grant assistance for High Impact Community Development Projects (HICDP) in Ukraine. The initiative will support Ukraine’s community development in partnership with the local government for the benefit of its people.

Cultural cooperation programme

A cultural cooperation programme was finalized between the Ministry of Culture of India and Ukraine's Ministry of Culture and Information Policy. The agreement aims to enhance cultural exchanges in fields like theatre, music, fine arts, and heritage preservation, strengthening cultural ties between the two nations from 2024 to 2028.
