Google India’s latest social media campaign smartly merges technology with pop culture, teasing its new AI Mode on Google Search through a nostalgic Bollywood reference. The video, captioned “Team mera toh life itna kharaab ho gaya hai’ give us a 😭”, borrows the iconic dialogue from the 2013 Hindi film Queen, starring Kangana Ranaut.

Not only the text in the X's post resembles to the Queen movies' dialogue. But, the video itself has the movies core storyline -- "Going to Paris alone for a honeymoon, first solo trip ever. Suggest the best places to visit and no Eiffel tower".

In Queen, Kangana’s character Rani Mehra delivers the line during a moment of heartbreak — a scene that went on to become a symbol of emotional resilience and one of Indian meme culture’s most reused expressions. By reviving this dialogue, Google taps into a familiar cultural memory, instantly striking a chord with millions of users who recognize the phrase’s blend of humor and vulnerability.

The ad mirrors Bollywood’s signature dramatic flair, complete with expressive reactions and emotive background music. However, beneath its light-hearted tone, the campaign cleverly positions Google’s AI Mode as a supportive, ever-ready companion — a digital sidekick for life’s everyday challenges.

What is AI Mode in Google Search?

AI Mode is Google’s most advanced search experience, built on the Gemini 2.5 model to handle complex, multi-part questions with detailed, AI-powered answers. It combines reasoning, factual depth, and multimodality — meaning users can search using text, voice, or images. Unlike traditional search, AI Mode breaks queries into subtopics, pulling insights from across the web, Knowledge Graph, and real-time data to deliver comprehensive overviews. Available in India as a Labs experiment, AI Mode makes it easier to plan trips, compare products, or understand complex topics through conversational, context-aware responses directly within Search.

How to use AI Mode in Google Search
To access AI Mode, open the Google app on your Android or iOS device and join the Labs experiment. Once enabled, you can type, speak, or upload a photo to start your query. Simply tap the microphone icon to ask using voice or the camera icon to search visually via Google Lens. AI Mode will instantly generate a detailed response with reasoning, visuals, and helpful links. You can continue the conversation by asking follow-up questions for deeper insights — creating a natural, assistant-like experience within Google Search.
