The 2025 Tata Sierra and the new-generation Kia Seltos both adopt triple-screen dashboard layouts, but they use the third display for very different purposes. And, if either one is on your buying radar and triple screen is one of the key features that's going to make or break your decision, then it is important for you to know the implementation of the screen to choose the right one based on your priorities and requirements. That said,  both SUVs aim to project a technology-led cabin experience or -- virtual cockpit experience -- the design philosophy and functional priorities behind their screen setups clearly diverge.

The core difference in triple screen philosophy

At a fundamental level, the difference lies in what the third screen is meant to do. Tata Motors uses the additional display in the Sierra to enhance passenger engagement, whereas Kia deploys it to simplify vehicle controls. This single decision shapes how the dashboard feels and how occupants interact with the car on a daily basis.

Tata Sierra’s entertainment-focused layout

The 2025 Tata Sierra, including the Sierra EV, introduces what the company refers to as a Horizon View or TheatrePro dashboard. All three screens sit behind a single, wide glass panel that stretches across the cabin, giving the interior a continuous, lounge-like appearance.

The driver gets a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster that shows driving information and navigation prompts. At the centre is a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen that acts as the main control interface for media, navigation, and connected car features.

The third screen, also a 12.3-inch panel, is positioned directly in front of the front passenger. This display is dedicated to passenger entertainment, allowing the co-driver to watch videos, play games, or manage music independently using Bluetooth headphones. Importantly, the system is designed so that the content on this screen does not distract the driver.

Kia Seltos’ utility-driven approach

The new-generation Kia Seltos takes a more functional route with its Trinity Panoramic Display, a layout inspired by Kia’s global electric models. The focus here is on reducing physical buttons while keeping key controls within easy reach of the driver.

The Seltos features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver and a 12.3-inch central infotainment touchscreen for navigation and media. Instead of a passenger entertainment display, the third screen is a compact 5-inch touch panel dedicated entirely to climate control.

This panel replaces traditional HVAC knobs and switches, showing temperature settings, fan speeds, and airflow modes in a digital format. The intent is to offer precise control while maintaining a cleaner dashboard layout.

What this means for buyers

The contrast between the two dashboards reflects brand priorities. Tata positions the Sierra as a lifestyle-oriented SUV that treats the cabin as a shared digital space. Kia, on the other hand, uses technology to streamline driving controls and reduce clutter. Buyers choosing between the two are essentially choosing between passenger-centric digital comfort and driver-focused operational efficiency.
