Media speculation over the past few months has surrounded Tamil actor turned politician Vijay.  Where it's his divorce from estranged wife Sangeetha or rumours circulating regarding his relationship with co-actor Trisha Krishnan.

Now,it seems like the spotlight appears to have shifted slightly to his son, Jason Sanjay, who is generating fresh speculation over a subtle change in the way he presents his professional name.

According to regional reports, including coverage by Filmy Figures, Jason Sanjay may now be styling himself as “Jason Sanjay S,” with the “S” believed to represent his mother Sangeetha’s surname, Sornalingam.

In Tamil films, star kids are generally given initials based on their father's name's first letter. Whereas, Vijay's son Jason Sanjay appears to be making a small, but significant move toward creating an identity for himself in the entertainment world by changing his father's initial 'V' to the letter 'S'.

In addition, Jason Sanjay made his directorial debut with Sigma which has received critical acclaim for its creative storytelling and technical achievements.

Insiders suggest that in his next project, he continues to use the “S” initial, signalling a conscious effort to highlight his own creative vision rather than leaning on his father’s star power.

So far, neither Thalapathy Vijay nor Jason Sanjay has publicly addressed the change, but it remains a hot topic among fans and industry watchers.

On the work front, Jana Nayagan, the new political action thriller starring Vijay and directed by H. Vinoth, continues to generate significant controversy leading up to its release. The film was originally slated for release on January 9, 2026, but has been subject to numerous delays since its initial announcement.

Earlier, Amazon Prime had acquired the streaming rights to the film for ₹120 Crores post-theatrically; however, it appears that this agreement is no longer valid.

Disagreements regarding censorship have raised concerns about the film's possible release. The CBFC objected to several portions of the film's content and has forwarded it for further review by a revision committee.

These issues have left both fans and industry insiders uncertain about when the film will be finally relased in theatres.
