Korean pop sensation Taeyong from the boy band NCT has recently sent his fans into a frenzy with his latest social media post. He has officially completed his mandatory 20-month military duty.
Taeyong took to his Instagram and shared his souvenirs, posed in front of the station, hugged his family, and took additional pictures during his conscription. He included the dates of his enrollment (April 15, 2024) and discharge (December 14, 2025) in the description of the post.
A video of his last day in the military services is going viral on social media. After he was discharged from the mandatory services, he was reunited with his parents and got emotional.
In the viral clip, Taeyong emotionally greeted his parents after he received a bouquet of red flowers from his mother. He then bows to them fully and delivers a touching official greeting. He then hugged his mother with tears in his eyes.
Taeyong participated in performances and other Navy ceremonial tasks while serving as a cultural promotion soldier and a member of the Navy Band and Honour Guard.
He is the first NCT member to complete the military training. Jaehyun, Doyoung, and Jungwoo are the other members who are still serving; the latter two recently joined last Monday December 8.
Taeyong is a member of the sub-unit NCT 127, which is well-known for songs like Favourite (Vampire), Cherry Bomb, Touch, Kick It, and Sticker.
He made his solo debut in 2023 with the extended play SHALALA, and in 2024, he released his second mini-album, TAP.
