US-based Capital Group picks up 1.67% stake in Shaily Engineering Plastics worth Rs 148 crore

Lighthouse India Fund III, the private equity growth fund managed by Lighthouse Funds, sold 5 lakh shares in Shaily at Rs 1,925 per share, valued at Rs 96.25 crore.

    US-based investment management firm Capital Group, through two of its funds, acquired a 1.67 percent stake in Shaily Engineering Plastics — a manufacturer of injection-moulded precision plastic components — for nearly Rs 148 crore via an open market transaction on Wednesday.

    The Growth Fund of America, and American Funds Fundamental Investors, managed by Capital Group, have bought 5 lakh shares in Shaily Engineering at Rs 1,925 per share, and 2,68,179 shares at Rs 1,924.78 per share, respectively, which amounted to Rs 147.9 crore, the bulk deals on the exchanges showed.

    However, Lighthouse India Fund III, the private equity growth fund managed by Lighthouse Funds, sold 5 lakh shares in Shaily at Rs 1,925 per share, valued at Rs 96.25 crore.

    Shaily Engineering Plastics shares finished the session lower at Rs 1,912.8, down 0.78 percent on the NSE, following 6.4 percent rally in previous session.

    The action was also seen in HealthCare Global Enterprises, which shares climbed 2.14 percent to Rs 682.1 on the BSE, may be following nearly 1 percent stake buy by mutual fund house.

    Axis Mutual Fund acquired 13.92 lakh shares (equivalent to 0.998 percent stake) in healthcare provider HealthCare Global Enterprises at Rs 660 per share from promoter Basavalinga Sadasivaiah Ajaikumar for Rs 91.87 crore.

    Among other deals, Motilal Oswal Finvest, the part of Motilal Oswal Financial Services, sold 15,000 shares in Ahmedabad-based Pearl Green Clubs and Resorts (0.56 percent stake) at Rs 161.45 per share.

    As of June 2025, Motilal Oswal Finvest held 1.86 percent stake in Pearl Green Clubs.

    Sampann Utpadan India has seen a second open market transaction in the current week, falling half a percent to Rs 32.16. Isquare Global PE Fund bought 7,29,449 shares (1.8 percent stake) in Sampann at Rs 32.4 per share from Davos International Fund.

    With today's transaction, global investment fund Davos International Fund exited Sampann, the reclaim rubber maker. On Monday, Davos International Fund had sold 12.5 lakh shares (3.07 percent stake) in the company to Isquare Global PE Fund at Rs 32.96 per share. As of June 2025, Davos held 4.87 percent stake in Sampann.

    Meanwhile, there was block deal in voltage stabilizer maker V-Guard Industries shares that corrected 0.79 percent to Rs 370.45. ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund acquired 41,51,351 shares in the company at Rs 370 per share from promoter Chittilappilly Thomas Kochuouseph, valued at Rs 153.6 crore.
