Morgan Stanley picks small stake in 10 companies including BEL, Bharti Airtel, Eternal, Paytm, Hero Moto from Goldman Sachs for Rs 201 crore

Promoter group entities offloaded 6.22 percent stake in the luggage manufacturer for Rs 343.2 crore with Kiddy Plast selling 10.87 lakh shares at Rs 388 per share, and Piramal Vibhuti Investments 77.5 lakh shares at Rs 388.25 per share.

    Morgan Stanley has acquired small stake worth Rs 201.3 crore in 10 companies including Bharat Electronics, Bharti Airtel, Eternal, Paytm, Hero MotoCorp, and Varun Beverages from Goldman Sachs through open market transactions on September 26.

    Morgan Stanley Asia Singapore bought 91,172 shares in Axis Bank at Rs 1,166.6 per share from Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE - ODI for Rs 10.6 crore, and 3.94 lakh shares in Bharat Electronics at Rs 403.15 per share for Rs 15.9 crore.

    In Bharti Airtel, there was an exchange of 1.47 lakh shares amongst them at Rs 1,935.6 per share for Rs 28.47 crore, and 9.52 lakh shares in Eternal at Rs 332.25 per share for Rs 31.6 crore.

    Further, Morgan Stanley acquired 1.03 lakh shares in Godrej Properties at Rs 1,967.4 per share for Rs 20.29 crore, and 28,602 shares in Hero MotoCorp at Rs 5,354.5 apiece for Rs 15.3 crore from Goldman Sachs.

    They both also exchange 1.16 lakh of Kotak Mahindra Bank at Rs 2,013.5 per share for Rs 23.54 crore, and 1.07 lakh shares of One 97 Communications (Paytm) at Rs 1,141.4 per share for Rs 12.3 crore.

    The brisk action was also seen in Shriram Finance and Varun Beverages where Morgan Stanley acquired 5.3 lakh shares at Rs 612.7 per share for Rs 32.7 crore, and 2.3 lakh shares at Rs 451.85 per share for Rs 10.48 crore from Goldman Sachs, respectively.

    Meanwhile, VIP Industries shares plunged nearly 4 percent to Rs 409.5. Promoter group entities offloaded 6.22 percent stake in the luggage manufacturer for Rs 343.2 crore with Kiddy Plast selling 10.87 lakh shares at Rs 388 per share, and Piramal Vibhuti Investments 77.5 lakh shares at Rs 388.25 per share.

    However, Multiples Private Equity Gift Fund IV, and Samvibhag Securities acquired 82.2 lakh shares (5.8 percent stake) in VIP Industries at Rs 388 per share for Rs 319.07 crore.

    AAA Technologies was also in focus, falling 2 percent to Rs 77. Promoter Anjay Ratanlal Agarwal sold 3.75 lakh shares in the company at Rs 77.08 per share to Nova Global Opportunities Fund PCC - Touchstone.
