Bharat Heavy Electricals (BHEL) share price gained nearly 2 percent in early trading on September 23, following the announcement of a notification of award (NOA) from NTPC for the 1x800 MW Sipat Supercritical Thermal Power Project Stage-III.
At 09:39am, Bharat Heavy Electricals was quoting at Rs 270.70, up Rs 4.55, or 1.71 percent, on the BSE.
This contract involves extensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) work, including the supply of equipment, erection and commissioning, as well as civil works, valued at over Rs 6,100 crore, excluding GST.

Earlier in August, the state-owned company secured a 1,600 MW project from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). The coal-based unit will be set up in the Koderma district of Jharkhand on an EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) basis.
