Exposure to the sun can leave your skin with an unwanted tan, but fret not! Ubtans, traditional Indian skincare remedies, offer a natural solution to combat tan and restore your skin's radiance. Packed with potent ingredients like turmeric, gram flour, sandalwood, orange peel, multani mitti, neem powder, and more, these ubtans not only help in tan removal but also nourish and rejuvenate your skin.

Let's look at five effective ubtan recipes to bid farewell to tan lines and unveil a glowing complexion.

Turmeric and gram flour ubtan: Turmeric is renowned for its anti-inflammatory and skin brightening properties, while gram flour acts as a gentle exfoliant.

Mix 2 tablespoons of gram flour with 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Add enough water or milk to form a smooth paste. Apply the mixture evenly onto your skin and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water, gently scrubbing in circular motions.

Sandalwood and Rose Water Ubtan: Sandalwood possesses soothing and cooling properties, making it ideal for sun-exposed skin, while rose water helps in toning and hydrating.

Combine 2 tablespoons of sandalwood powder with enough rose water to form a paste. Apply the mixture onto your skin and let it dry for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with cool water and pat dry with a soft towel.

Orange Peel Ubtan: Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, orange peel helps in brightening the skin and reducing tan. Dry some orange peels in the sun and grind them into a fine powder.

Mix 2 tablespoons of orange peel powder with 1 tablespoon of yoghurt. Apply the paste onto your skin and leave it on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water and enjoy the refreshing citrusy aroma.

Multani Mitti and Neem Powder Ubtan: Multani mitti, also known as Fuller's earth, absorbs excess oil and impurities, while neem powder purifies the skin and fights acne.

Combine 2 tablespoons of Multani mitti with 1 tablespoon of neem powder. Add enough water to make a smooth paste. Apply the ubtan evenly onto your skin and let it dry for 15-20 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water, revealing a clearer and tanfree complexion.

Sesame Turmeric Ubtan: Sesame oil is rich in antioxidants and vitamin E, promoting skin elasticity and radiance, while turmeric brightens and evens out skin tone.

Mix 2 tablespoons of sesame oil with 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Massage the mixture gently onto your skin in circular motions. Leave it on for 1520 minutes to allow the nutrients to penetrate. Rinse off with lukewarm water and marvel at your glowing skin.
