When autumn arrives, fashion often takes a moody turn, with darker palettes and earthy hues dominating wardrobes. But this Fall 2025, cherry red and burgundy are leading the conversation, injecting a powerful blend of confidence and sophistication into seasonal dressing. Seen across global runways and on A-list celebrities, the shades are proving to be far more versatile than they might appear at first glance.
With fabrics like silk, satin, suede, and knits taking on these shades beautifully, the possibilities are endless, whether one is dressing for a festive occasion, a night out, or simply elevating everyday wear. These striking mysterious tones are not just accents but they’re making head-to-toe statements.
Shailina Parti, The Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Trent, explains, “These colours are rich tones that work well on Asian skin tones and look expensive on all fabrications so you will see dresses, knitwear, Indian festive outfits all using these colours and following international trends. These colours are being worn head to toe, across both menswear and womenswear. The full look in one colour is the most fashionable and good fabrics like satin, silks, suedes, cotton and viscose all take the colours well.”
How to style it:
One of the strongest styling statements this season is committing fully to a single shade. A cherry red satin blouse tucked into matching trousers or a burgundy knit dress with coordinating boots gives a sleek, editorial edge. Monotone dressing also elongates the silhouette, making the trend both fashionable and flattering.
For those willing to experiment, combining cherry red with burgundy in a layered look creates a tonal gradient that feels modern and chic. Shailina adds, “I think these colours are very wearable so satin blouses and dresses, knits and for men suede jackets and shirts. Bags or shoes are great options too, if you just want a flash of the right colour in your outfit.”
Stand out in style:
Part of the appeal of cherry red and burgundy is the balance they strike between boldness and elegance. Cherry red is striking, spirited, and instantly draws attention, while burgundy feels deep, polished, and timeless. Unlike neon brights or tricky pastels, these tones are remarkably wearable.
They flatter a wide range of skin tones and pair beautifully with both minimal and maximal styling. For fall, where layering and texture mixing are key, cherry red and burgundy provide the perfect pop against neutral bases like beige, camel, or charcoal, but they’re equally impactful when worn monochrome.
If a full head-to-toe look feels daunting, accessories are the easiest entry point. A cherry red handbag instantly enlivens a neutral outfit, while burgundy loafers or boots ground the look with subtle luxury. Jewelry with warm gold undertones complements these shades beautifully, adding depth and glow.

For menswear, suede jackets in burgundy or cherry red shirts layered under darker outerwear offer a balance of boldness and refinement. For womenswear, satin dresses in these shades can easily transition from day to night with just a switch in styling – from sneakers and an oversized blazer for the day to heels and statement earrings for the evening.
