During the monsoon, your skin might start to feel clammy, with an oily sheen on your forehead and dry patches around your cheeks. You notice a few more breakouts than usual and that tight, uncomfortable feeling on your skin after a day out in the rain. That's when you know your skin is craving some serious hydration. Keeping your skin well-hydrated should be at the top of your skincare list to combat the toll that the rainy season takes on your skin.
According to Shaheen Khalily, Area Head, Myrah, it is a misconception that your skin doesn't require hydration during monsoon season because of higher humidity levels. “In fact, the monsoon season can be very drying for the skin. Rain, humidity and occasional sun exposure can deplete the skin of its natural oils and hydration, causing flakiness, dryness, and breakouts” she says. Moreover, hydrated skin looks healthier and functions better as a protective barrier against environmental pollutants and germs prevalent during the rainy season.
Here are five spa treatments, suggested by Khalily, that will help keep your skin moisturised despite the damp conditions of monsoon:

Detox polish: Body polishing is a great full-body treatment to exfoliate the skin by removing dead cells and encouraging cell regeneration. Once the treatment is done, it also moisturises the skin. A detox polish reduces the appearance of cellulite while also improving the tone and texture of the skin. Due to its refreshing exfoliation, it also promotes blood flow, spreading healthy nutrients and antioxidants to all parts of the body, and acts as an anti-ageing technique.
Hot stone Asian blend massage: It is a therapeutic treatment that combines the advantages of hot stone therapy with various traditional Chinese, Balinese, Japanese, and Thai massage techniques. In this treatment, tense muscles are gently massaged using smooth, heated stones strategically placed on the body's vital points. The heat from the stone helps to relax and warm the muscles, which helps to ease body tension. This massage relieves physical tension and helps calm the mind, reduce stress, and promote physical well-being. The warmth of the stone promotes circulation, which helps detoxify the skin.

Lymphatic drainage massage: This massage promotes the flow of lymph, a clear fluid that carries waste products and toxins away from the tissues and back towards the heart. This massage helps reduce swelling, enhance detoxification, and support the immune system. It also helps improve skin texture and tone. The increased lymph flow can help nourish the tissues, leading to a healthier complexion.
Luxury envelopment: The treatment includes applying a nourishing and hydrating massage cream on the full body using basic massage techniques. The body is then enveloped in a warm thermal blanket. The warmth from the blanket facilitates absorption cream in the skin. This treatment also helps to release water retention from the body. While the body is enveloped in the blanket, a relaxing head massage is done to help relieve stress and tension. It also stimulates nerve activity to encourage blood circulation.
AINHOA hyaluronic facial: This is a luxurious skincare treatment that focuses on hydrating the skin using the benefits of hyaluronic acid, known for its ability to attract and retain moisture. This facial helps in deep hydration and plumping the skin, making it look refreshed, smooth, and youthful. The nourishing and soothing properties of hyaluronic acid make it ideal for dry and sensitive skin, providing a gentle yet effective solution for maintaining a healthy complexion.
