Varun Dhawan talks about feeling guilty for not spending time with daughter Lara, says, "I feel that every day..."

Varun Dhawan discussed how fatherhood has awakened a protective instinct in him, praised his wife Natasha Dalal as his "superhero," and reflected on the sacrifices women make during childbirth.

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan, currently busy promoting his upcoming film Baby John, recently admitted in an interview that he feels guilty for not spending enough time with his daughter. He also praised his partner, Natasha, for her remarkable strength and resilience during this period.

In an interview with GQ India, Varun Dhawan opened up about how fatherhood has changed him, revealing that it has awakened a strong protective instinct. He also shared how seeing his wife and daughter together has profoundly affected him, reminding him of times when he had been disrespectful to his mother. The Badlapur actor acknowledged the immense sacrifices women make during childbirth, noting that men can never truly understand them. He further praised his wife, Natasha Dalal, referring to her as his "superhero."

Amidst his hectic work schedule, Varun Dhawan admitted to spending minimal time at home. After finishing the shoot and promotions for Citadel: Honey Bunny, the actor is now preparing for the release of Baby John while also juggling filming for projects like Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and his father’s directorial film.

When asked about feeling guilty for not spending enough time at home, Varun Dhawan confessed to experiencing a daily sense of guilt. While he wished he could be home more, he explained that taking a break from work wasn’t an option.

Varun mentioned, "There’s a lot of guilt. I feel that every day. I feel that when I work. I feel like I’m not there. I’ll take a few days off in December and spend time with her, but that’s probably not enough. And it’s not just about Lara, I want to spend time with Natasha too. But as soon as I wrap these two films, Border 2 will begin."

The actor also opened up about being a father and said, "It changes you overnight. There’s this strong protective instinct that has taken over me. And Natasha—I mean, she’s my superhero."

On the work front, Alongside Baby John, Varun Dhawan is also working on his next venture, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari starring alongside Janhvi Kapoor.

Varun Dhawan's Baby John is an official remake of the hit Tamil film Theri, starring Ilayathalapathy Vijay. The plot centers on a DCP who changes his life to safeguard his family. Directed by Kalees, this action-packed drama is set for release on December 25. In addition to Dhawan, the film stars Jackie Shroff, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanya Malhotra, and Rajpal Yadav in significant roles.
