Varun Dhawan praises Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai co-star Pooja Hegde after watching Retro

Pooja Hegde and Varun Dhawan are currently in the UK filming their upcoming project Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The two went to a special screening of Retro, which features Pooja and Suriya, while they were in London.

Actress Mrunal Thakur was also present. Varun Dhawan praised Pooja Hegde's performance on social media after the event, praising her portrayal of Rukmani in particular.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Varun Dhawan wrote, "Saw Retro last night, loved Rukmani. @hegdepooja you were soo good and @actorsuriya always loved your work sir but enjoyed u in this avatar more. @ksubbaraj laughter is the best medicine."

Since the movie's theatrical release, Pooja has astonished both reviewers and viewers with her portrayal of the tough and grounded Rukmani. The actress's emotional range gives the gangster cliché a hint of romanticism while also giving the story more depth.

Pooja Hegde is working with Varun Dhawan on her upcoming Bollywood romantic comedy, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, just after burning the screens with Retro. David Dhawan was the film's director.
