Tragically, Nargis died three days before Sanjay's first movie, Rocky, came out in 1981. For the actor, this was both a career turning point and a personal tragedy.

Known for her elegance, adaptability, and commanding on-screen persona, Nargis is regarded as one of the best and most significant actors in Indian movie history. She frequently portrayed strong, elegant, and independent women in films spanning multiple genres—from screwball comedies to thought-provoking dramas. Although she started out in the film business as a juvenile performer in Talash-E-Haq, her ascent to fame started in 1942 with Tamanna.

In films such as Taqdeer, Andaz, Barsaat, Awaara, Shree 420, Chori Chori, and the legendary Mother India, where her portrayal of the tenacious Radha is still remembered in cinematic history, Nargis went on to give outstanding performances. Her legacy as a trailblazer in Indian cinema was cemented when her final film, Raat Aur Din, won her the first-ever National Film Award for Best Actress and demonstrated her extraordinary dramatic depth.

Unfortunately, she succumbed to it on May 3 in 1981 at Breach Candy Hospital Trust, Mumbai.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt is lately seen in The Bhootnii, alongside Mouni Roy and Palak Tiwari which released on May 1.
