There are reports claiming that Vicky Kaushal is preparing for his upcoming mythological drama Mahavatar by giving up alcohol and non-vegetarian food.
The film, being directed by Amar Kaushik, explores the life of the warrior-sage Chiranjeevi Parashurama, one of the avatars of Lord Vishnu. According to reports, Vicky is making lifestyle changes to honour the role and the spiritual intensity of the project.
Multiple reports including Bollywood Hungama stated that Vicky and Amar Kaushik have decided to lead a sattvic lifestyle, primarily by quitting alcohol and non-veg food, heading into the production of Mahavatar.

The first look of the film was released in November last year and it created a huge buzz. The shooting is slated to begin in late 2026 with a planned theatrical release in 2028. Rumours also draw parallels to Ranbir Kapoor, who reportedly adopted similar habits for his role in Ramayana.
However, seems there’s no concrete official statement from Vicky Kaushal or his team confirming that he has definitively quit alcohol and non-veg. ETimes states a source suggested these speculations remain “untrue and unverified”.
Meanwhile on the personal front, Vicky Kaushal will soon embrace fatherhood as Katrina kaif is pregnant. In an interview with Yuvaa, the actor was asked about what he was most looking forward to about being a father. Vicky said, “Just being a dad. Really looking forward to it. I think it’s a huge blessing and exciting times. Almost there, so fingers crossed. Mujhe lag raha hai main ghar se hi nahi nikalne wala hoon."
Professionally, he is currently busy filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Love and War that will see him alongside Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor.
