Dilli Babu had established himself as a key figure in Tamil cinema with a slew of successful films to his credit. His production house, Axess Film Factory, was responsible for bringing to life several hit films, including Ratsasan, Maragadha Naanayam, Iravukku Aayiram Kangal. His most notable work, Ratsasan, was a widely acclaimed psychological thriller, receiving both critical and commercial success. SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures expressed his sorrow, describing Dilli Babu as a significant figure who supported young talents in the film industry. Prabhu's emotional post spoke of the void left behind by the producer's death, calling it a "big loss to the industry."
Similarly, G Dhananjeyan, another noted producer, expressed his shock at the sudden news of Dilli Babu’s passing, describing him as a passionate and friendly producer who had big dreams for Tamil cinema. His heartfelt post paid tribute to Dilli Babu’s contributions and conveyed condolences to his family and the Axess Film Factory team.
One of Dilli Babu's closest collaborators, ARK Saravan, director of Maragadha Naanayam posted a moving note in Tamil, calling Dilli Babu not only a great producer but also a good human being and an achiever. Saravan mentioned how Dilli Babu gave him a chance to prove his talent in the industry and how his death has left an irreplaceable void.
Reports suggest that Dilli Babu had been admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for an illness, though the specifics of his health condition have not been revealed publicly. According to sources close to the family, he passed away at around 12:30 AM on September 9. His sudden death has left many in shock, as he was an active and influential member of the industry. His funeral was scheduled for later that same day, with his body brought to his residence in Perungalathur, Chennai, for homage.
