Tahira Kashyap’s ‘Sharmajee Ki Bete’ gets 7 nominations at an award show; filmmaker breaks down

Director and wife of actor Ayushmann Khurrana, Tahira Kashyap Khurrana recently took to Instagram and posted a picture with her tears of joy.

Tahira expressed her break down as her first feature film and directorial debut, Sharmajee ki bete has got seven nominations.

She wrote,"Few hours ago while I was trying to show up in the gym I got to know Sharmajee Ki Beti, my first feature film, is nominated in various categories. After rain I think gym is the best place to hide your tears. But not hiding them anymore because these are tears of gratitude. It’s ok to be vulnerable I guess!"

Her post further read, "I am sharing this part of my life because I think who ever is following me here has seen me through all these years of trying to make this film. I wrote this in 2017 and have been trying to make this film since then. I guess universe has its own way of compensating! 1 nomination for each year we tried to make this film and hence we have 7 NOMINATIONS !!"

she has urged the audiences to vote for her film and make it win.

The film stars Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta, Saiyami Kher, Arista Mehta, Vanshika Taparia and more.

Sharmajee Ki Beti is an OTT film that was released in June this year on Amazon Prime Video and is currently streaming there.

Tahira Kashyap is also an advocate for breast cancer awareness. She has shared her journey with cancer in her book "The 12 Commandments of Being a Woman" and has also given talks on the subject.
