Saif Ali Khan is currently recovering at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital after sustaining multiple stab wounds in a violent attack at his residence in Bandra. The attack, which occurred early on Thursday morning, has led the Mumbai Police to intensify their investigation. They suspect that the house help, who was present at the time of the attack, might have allowed the assailant inside the house. Authorities are investigating whether the house help had any prior connection to the attacker.

According to a source cited by Indian Express, the police believe that "the help must have allowed him entry and due to some reason a fight took place." The report further reveals that the househelp is currently being interrogated by the local police to gather more details about the assailant. "Seven local police teams are working to track him down," the source added. It was also reported that after the altercation, the attacker was locked in one of the rooms but managed to escape before the authorities could apprehend him.

The incident unfolded at around 2:30 am when an unknown person entered the residence of Saif Ali Khan and his wife, actress Kareena Kapoor, while the family was at home. The attack is believed to have occurred after an altercation between the intruder and the domestic help, which alerted the actor. News agency ANI quoted a Mumbai Police source, stating, "When the actor tried to intervene and pacify the man, he attacked Saif Ali Khan and injured him. Police are investigating the matter."

At the time of the assault, Saif and Kareena were at home with their two sons, Taimur and Jeh. The severity of the attack prompted immediate action, with Saif being rushed to the hospital by his older son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, from his first marriage to actress Amrita Singh. Ibrahim transported his father to Lilavati Hospital around 3:30 am, where Saif was promptly treated.

Saif Ali Khan's team later issued a statement around noon on Thursday, providing an update on his condition. "Saif Ali Khan has come out of surgery and is out of danger. He is currently in recovery and the doctors are monitoring his progress. All family members are safe and the police is investigating the incident," the statement read.

A hospital official, Niraj Uttamani, the COO of Lilavati Hospital, further confirmed that Saif had been shifted to the ICU for observation. "He will be under observation in the ICU for a day," Uttamani added, reassuring the public that the actor’s health was stable.

The attack has left both Saif's family and his fans deeply concerned. The authorities are continuing their investigation, with a particular focus on the househelp's potential involvement in allowing the intruder access to the home. While the assailant remains at large, the police are hopeful that the ongoing investigation will lead to his capture.
