Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was attacked by an unidentified intruder early on Thursday morning, according to statements given by the domestic help to the Mumbai Police Crime Branch team. Reportedly, when the attack occurred Saif heard a scream and he came out and confronted the assailant, who then stabbed him six times.
The domestic help confirmed that Saif’s screams prompted her to alert others in the house. Saif, despite being injured, called the police immediately after the attack to report the incident.

Saif's elder son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, was the one who rushed him to the Lilavati Hospital, where the actor underwent surgery after sustaining at least six stab wounds, two of them deep cuts. Saif's two sons, Taimur and Jeh, were present in the house at the time of the attack but were fortunately unharmed.
During the questioning, the domestic help also revealed that she was injured in the scuffle. She suffered a minor injury to her hand, which required medical attention, although she was discharged after treatment. The attack took place at Saif Ali Khan's Bandra residence, and the attacker reportedly fled the scene following the assault.

The Crime Branch’s initial investigation revealed that no one had entered the society complex two hours prior to the incident.
The Mumbai Police has now confirmed that the intruder gained entry into the building through fire escape stair case.
In response, the Mumbai Police have formed ten teams, including specialists from the Crime Branch, to investigate the case thoroughly and track down the assailant.
