Priyamani reveals Manoj Bajpayee nailed Vicky Kaushal’s ‘Tauba Tauba’ hook step on The Family Man set

Manoj Bajpayee, known for his stellar portrayal of Srikant Tiwari in the hit series The Family Man, has not only captivated audiences with his intense acting but also surprised his co-stars with his hidden talents. Over the years, many behind-the-scenes stories have surfaced, painting a fuller picture of the versatile actor. One such story was recently revealed by his on-screen wife, Priyamani, during a candid chat with Humans of Bombay.

Priyamani, who plays Suchitra Tiwari in the Amazon Prime series, shared a delightful and unexpected anecdote that showcases Manoj Bajpayee’s fun-loving and spontaneous side.

Talking about their time on set, she recalled an incident that left everyone in splits. “I don’t think anybody has recorded it, but Manoj sir actually did that Vicky Kaushal’s Tauba Tauba step and we absolutely lost it,” she laughed, referencing the viral hook step from Kaushal’s energetic number.

She added that it was young actor Vedant Sinha, who played their son Atharv in the show, who initiated the moment. “Vedant is a phenomenal dancer. One fine day, we were all talking about Vicky’s hook step, and Vedant started doing it,” she explained. Intrigued and amused, the cast asked him to teach them the step. That’s when the unexpected happened. “Manoj sir came down and said that it’s pretty easy. He actually did it. We were all so surprised that he did,” Priyamani recalled, clearly still amused by the memory.

This incident not only highlights Manoj Bajpayee’s surprising knack for dancing but also the camaraderie and fun the cast shared on set—a testament to the chemistry that made The Family Man such a hit.

On the professional front, Bajpayee is all set to collaborate with acclaimed filmmaker Neeraj Pandey once again. The yet-untitled film is scheduled to begin shooting on April 18, 2025, in Mumbai. Initially planned with Kay Kay Menon, the role has now gone to Saqib Saleem due to scheduling conflicts. “The film begins in Mumbai with a marathon schedule on April 18,” a source confirmed to Pinkvilla.

The film will also mark the directorial debut of writer Ritesh Shah, with Akshay Oberoi joining the cast in a significant role. As always, Manoj Bajpayee continues to surprise and impress both on and off-screen.
