Om Puri's ex-wife Seema Kapoor reveals the actor cheated on her when she was 3-months pregnant, offered her Rs 25000 after their child passed away

She revealed that he was cheating on her with Nandita, about which Seema got to know much later.

Late actor Om Puri was once married to Seema Kapoor in 1990 for a brief period before marrying Nandita Puri. Recently, Seema revealed in an interview that Om Puri had cheated on her while she was 3-months pregnant.

During a conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Seema spoke about her turbulent marriage with Om Puri. She revealed that he was cheating on her with Nandita, about which Seema got to know much later. She further said that Om Puri met Nandita on the sets of their film City of Joy and things went downhill after that.

Speaking about the same, Seema stated, "Everything was going fine after our marriage, but that movie turned my life upside down… My good friend Renu Saluja, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s first wife, knew about the affair. But she and Sudhir Mishra and everyone else chalked it down to a phase. They felt that he’d get back to normal after the film. I found out about the affair much later, when I was in Delhi. He called me up and told me that he was seeing someone else, and my friends said that he was just seeking attention."

Recalling another heartbreaking incident, Seema said, "But things became overwhelming; Puri sahab would drink too much, and Nandita would make a scene. One night, I decided to leave. I was three months pregnant." She further revealed that later when their child passed away, Om Puri sent her Rs 25,000 which she refused to take.

"Forget consoling me. He sent Rs 25,000 via his secretary. I turned it down, and his secretary told me, ‘This ego is what is destroying you’. But what he thought was ego was just self-respect," Seema said.

For those unversed, Seema Kapoor is the sister of well-known actor Annu Kapoor. He wanted to drag Om Puri to the court and eventually Seema got Rs 6 lakh in Alimony. Om went on to marry Nandita in 1993 but their marriage too didn't work out and they got divorced in 2013.

Om Puri passed away in 2017 following a heart attack, in Mumbai.
