On Teacher's Day, singer Nikhita Gandhi reflected on the profound impact that music maestro AR Rahman has had on her career.

Known for her soulful voice and pop hits, Nikhita opened about how Rahman has been a guiding force in her journey as an artist.

In an interview, she expressed deep gratitude for his mentorship, acknowledging how his teachings have shaped her both professionally and personally.

Nikhita shared, “Rahman Sir is one of the biggest influences in my life when it comes to music. He is like the guide and mentor for me in the industry. I have learnt a lot more about the profession of singing, of recording, of being an artiste over all because of him." She elaborated on how Rahman’s work ethic and musical genius have helped her evolve, pushing her to strive for excellence in every project.

Recalling a cherished moment, Nikhita revealed how Rahman once complimented her for her unique voice. "I think it was one of the coolest moments of my life, for sure," she said.

The compliment, coming from someone of Rahman's stature, was a turning point for her, boosting her confidence as a singer.

Nikhita began her journey with AR Rahman, collaborating on several projects. One of her notable early works was her contribution to Rahman's German orchestra.
