The daughter of legendary movie stars Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia, Twinkle Khanna, is a former actress and now a well-known author. She recently talked about her loving and playful relationship with her younger sister, Rinke Khanna.

Twinkle posted a sweet Instagram post in January 2024 honoring their relationship, providing followers with a unique look into their sibling dynamic through happy holiday pictures and old-fashioned black-and-white pictures with their father.

“My sister and I are a year apart. I was always the giant, and she was petite. At times, we resembled Tom and Jerry, and sometimes, depending on my weight, Laurel and Hardy. Of course, we teased each other mercilessly,” Twinkle wrote, describing their playful camaraderie.

She also recounted a hilarious prank she pulled on Rinke’s husband during their very first meeting. “As her husband likes to recount, when he first came to meet my sister, I informed him, ‘You need to know we have different fathers. My father is Vinod Khanna, and hers is Rajesh Khanna. That’s why I am tall and she is not.’ My sister was livid, though I thought it was quite funny,” she recalled with her trademark wit.

Despite the teasing and pranks, Twinkle emphasised the unwavering support they offer one another during life’s rough patches. “But whenever I am in trouble, she is the first one by my side. She calls me every day, even if it’s just to chat about mundane events. I can’t say that if life is a desert, she is my only oasis, but I know that under the scorching sun, she will definitely share that wide-brimmed hat with me — even if it’s just to throw some shade my way :)”

She ended her tribute by raising a toast to sisters everywhere: “Here’s to sisters — what would we do without them? What is the funniest thing your sister has done to you? Let me know in the comments below.”

Rinke stopped working in films almost twenty years ago; she last appeared with Mammootty in Ek Din Anjaane Mein (2005). She previously starred alongside Kareena Kapoor in Chameli.
