In the new look she is seen in a strapless free flowing gown with ruby earrings. She tied her hair in a sleek bun. And alongside the pics, Namita who is 47-year-old spoke about being trolled for making her Cannes debut as she is an entrepreneur.

She is known for her stylish self as a Shark on  Shark Tank India and she loves to dress well.

Sharing a long note with a lovely caption, she mentioned how she has been trolled for her choice of outfits and some have warned that her appearance at the Cannes red carpet could hamper her company’s IPO.

Namita wrote a long empowering caption on her Instagram and said “will not be apologetic & defensive about who I am :) “

Read her post here: “You are old, 47, dress your age
You are just a nepo kid
You don’t deserve a seat on shark tank as you are always saying “I am out”
Please don’t post your Cannes pictures, your IPO is coming up, you won’t be taken seriously as a business leader”
Who defines who we are & how we need to behave? The biggest gift in life is when …with age, with some white hair & with guidance from precious mentors, you discover your true authentic self & celebrate self love. Yes, I will go all out in Cannes…yes, I will put up my pics on social media & oh yes, I will not be apologetic & defensive about who I am :)
Here’s to taking every stereotype ever created & squashing it with my 6 inch killer heels !!!”

Thapar is setting an amazing example for all women around the world to not let the hate affect one too much. It’s just noise.

For her first red carpet appearance at the Cannes Film Festival, she wore a cyan coloured French gown designed by Elio Abou Fayssal with ruffled sleeves and a single leg slit that reached the upper thigh. The dress had a long train that added to the elegance. For the final touches, she donned beautiful Helena Joy jewellery and tied her hair up in a lavish bun.

She took to Instagram to show her excitement about attending the prestigious film festival.

Her caption read - “Cannes 2024 :) thanks”

The reality show judge spoke to Brut, “Typically you associate Cannes with film stars or people from the movie industry. Getting entrepreneurs here shows that we can be multidimensional and we can do really well in business and ace it in fashion as well, in a way breaking some stereotype. I am wearing Elio Abou Fayssal and I love the colour because it is so different. It is a colour I have never worn before. I just hope I can manage this long train but I am having fun. Pray I don’t trip over it on the red carpet.”

Namita Thapar was also the victim of a lot of hatred and negativity on the internet, with trolls emphasising her age and how she should dress accordingly.
