Paresh Rawal speaks on being a part of Drishyam 3

As anticipation builds for Drishyam 3, the concluding chapter in the thriller franchise, veteran actor Paresh Rawal has clarified recent rumours about his involvement in the film.

While reports suggested that the actor had joined the cast, Paresh has now confirmed that he hasn’t signed the project though he did receive an offer from the makers.

Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, the Hera Pheri star dismissed speculation about being part of Drishyam 3. “No, I have not. There’s no truth to these reports at all,” he said.

However, Paresh Rawal did reveal that he was indeed approached for a role in the much-awaited thriller. “Yes, the makers did approach me. But I didn’t feel that the role was suitable for me. Maza nahin aaya (on reading about my part),” he admitted candidly.

The actor was all praise for the script, though. “But the script is very good. I was really impressed. But even in a compelling script, you need a role that you feel excited about. Warna maza nahin aayega,” he added.

Paresh Rawal’s remarks come amid heightened buzz around Drishyam 3, which is set for release on October 2, 2026. Following the phenomenal success of Drishyam (2015) and Drishyam 2 (2022), expectations are sky-high for the franchise’s finale. The first two films, starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu, and Akshaye Khanna, became box office blockbusters and won acclaim for their suspenseful storytelling and unexpected twists.

Paresh Rawal who is currently seen in Thamma also reacted to the success of the film. “Yes, I heard it is doing well,” he said.

A part of review for Thamma by Moneycontrol read, "Thamma’ ambitiously draws from key moments of ancient and modern Indian history to establish the supernatural powers of its central characters—from the journey of a conqueror in the 4th century BC to post-Independence India’s blood-soaked chapters. The intent is grand, but the narrative isn’t taut enough to hold it all together. It relies on convenient plot devices and cameos from other films in the universe to stay afloat. These nods may excite fans but cannot sustain a story where romance and emotional depth should take center stage. The film lacks a beating heart; even Khurrana’s natural charm and Mandanna’s muted intensity can’t elevate the superficial writing."
