Indian entrepreneur Namita Thapar mostly known for appearing as a judge in the business reality TV show, ‘Shark Tank’ made her way to the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday, May 15.
The businesswoman who is the executive director at Emcure Pharmaceuticals captivated onlookers with her beautiful pastel green Elio Abou Fayssal gown.
She shared images on her Instagram from the Cannes Film Festival, adding the caption "Cannes 2024 :)" and expressing gratitude to her designer, Elio Abou Fayssal, for creating her gala attire. Admirers praised her as a "stunning queen" and celebrated her intellect, with one stating, "Beauty with brains is my favorite combination." Indian model and actress Parul Gulati, CEO and founder of Nish Hair, who also participated in the Shark Tank show, chimed in with a comment, saying, "Ohooo PC vibes.”
Speaking to Brut in an interview before the ‘Furiosa’ screening at Cannes, she said, “Typically you only associate Cannes to film stars or people from the movie industry, and getting entrepreneurs here shows that we can be multidimensional,” when asked how it felt attending the festival as an entrepreneur. “We can do really good in business, and can ace it in fashion as well.”
Namita also expressed her worries about tripping over her gown’s trail sarcastically during the interview. “Just pray that I don’t trip over it on the red carpet,” said the entrepreneur.
The executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, joined 'Shark Tank India' in its inaugural season in 2021. Her memorable line, "Ye mera expertise nahi hai, I am out," has created an outburst of numerous viral memes online.
