“Animal” was deplored by critics and audiences for its heavy subtext on domestic abuse, patriarchal settings.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Animal” that took India by storm with its shots at humanistic values, gender issues, patriarchal dominant plot lines, and a few other issues that the Indian audiences criticized the hell out of the blockbuster film (a personal favorite), is returning with its sequel as “Animal Park,” but how long do we have to wait?

Fans of the action film, “Animal,” have been waiting for any bit of news or updates on the expected arrival of the sequel to its tour de force. And Saurabh Sachdeva who appeared as Abid ul Haque, Bobby Deol’s brother in the film, made a comment on the ETA of the film.

In an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Saurabh stated that it might take a while to see Ranbir Kapoor don his ‘killer’ face again. “I have no idea (when the film will take off). I have not had a chat with the production or director. Sandeep Reddy Vanga said ‘abhi toh time hai, I’m making the other film (Prabhas’ Spirit). And Ranbir is doing Ramayana so usmein bahut time lagega. It is going to take time — it could be 2026, it could be 2027, I have no idea. I don’t even know the story yet, I don’t know if he’s written it or if it is in his mind, or even have a rough structure of it, I have no idea," he told the publication house.

Animal” was deplored by critics and audiences for its heavy subtext on domestic abuse, patriarchal settings, and just the obscene amount of blood being spurted around by characters. Though it received harsh responses from the public, it (quite literally) glided through the criticisms and smashed the box office with a whopping 900 crore in global earnings.

Although audiences will need to wait a bit longer for Saurabh and Ranbir's on-screen reunion, Saurabh is set to make his next appearance in the upcoming series "Bad Cop," premiering this week. In this Disney+ Hotstar production, Saurabh takes on the role of a homicide detective who is delving into the mysterious death of a dear friend.
