Shroff reveals that the couple's vision was clear from the outset: “a sanctuary that blends contemporary aesthetics with a minimalist undertone, emphasising straight lines, clean forms, and a sober palette.” This design philosophy reflects both their personalities and lifestyle, creating a home that feels both serene and inviting.

Madhuri describes the essence of their home beautifully, stating, “Everything [in this Mumbai home] is uncluttered; it's straight lines... beautiful yet artistic.” Dr. Nene echoes this sentiment, noting, “Our take on contemporary design is very similar.” The result is a space that radiates understated elegance, promoting an atmosphere of calm, clarity, and comfort. Architect Apoorva Shroff adds that the home’s design evokes a “zenith of tranquility,” achieved through a neutral interior palette that complements the vibrant energies of its residents.

Art plays a pivotal role in the couple's home, with the works of celebrated modernist Maqbool Fida Husain prominently featured throughout. MF Husain, who was not only a renowned artist but also a close friend and admirer of Madhuri, painted several pieces exclusively for her. The entrance foyer of the apartment showcases a dramatic console by Vikram Goyal's Viya Home, adorned with Husain's auspicious Ganeshas, setting a welcoming tone that pays homage to Madhuri’s roots.

Madhuri fondly recalls her relationship with MF  Husain, stating, “Husain Ji wanted to paint the walls of my home, but I objected on the account of moving, so he painted me some of his finest works.” These pieces are not just decor; they serve as conversation starters, echoing stories of her journey from a small-town girl to a Bollywood icon. The vibrant colors and expressive forms of Husain's artwork bring a dynamic energy to the space, which Madhuri appreciates deeply: “I just love the colours he used; it pops out,” she expresses with a hint of nostalgia.
