Singham Again set to release, the Censor Board orders to delete a scene featuring Ravan and Sita: Reports 

The much-awaited Singham Again starring Ajay Devgn, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, and Jackie Shroff is all set for a big Diwali release. The movie is going to clash with Kartik Aaryan, Vidya Balan, and Madhuri Dixit starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.

Singham Again directed by Rohit Shetty is loosely based on the epic Ramayan, and it blends it with this cop verse.

The movie is all set for a big release, but new reports have emerged that the Censor Board has suggested a few changes and also asked the makers to delete a particular scene about Ravana and Sita. The film has got a U/A certificate.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, 7.12 minutes of footage has been censored by CBFC.

"At two places, the Examining Committee asked the makers to suitably modify the 23-second-long'match cut’ visual depictions of Lord Rama, Sita Mata, and Lord Hanuman with those of Singham, Avni, and Simmba, respectively. Similarly, a 23-second-long visual of ‘Singham with Shri Ram touching feet’ was' suitably modified,’” according to the report.

The report further mentions that director Rohit Shetty has been asked to delete a 16-second clip where Arjun Kapoor's character depicting Ravan is 'grabbing, pulling, and pushing Sita’.

The censor board has also asked for the deletion of a 29-second scene of ‘Hanuman burning and dialogue of Simmba flirting’.

And there is one more 26-second dialogue clip and visuals to be removed as the censor board feels it “affected international diplomatic relations of India with neighboring states.”.

Singham Again has been shot in Sri Lanka, as according to mythology, Ravan, the king of Lanka, took Sita Maa to his kingdom after abduction from Panchvati.

CBFC has ordered the team to add a disclaimer at the beginning of the film, which reads, “This film is purely a work of fiction... Although the film is inspired by the story of Lord Ram, neither its narrative nor the characters should be viewed as revered deities. The story features contemporary characters of today…or societies, and their cultures, customs, practices, and traditions.”

Singham Again is a multi-starrer, and besides Ajay, the film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff.

The movie is going to release on November 1 along with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
