The RK Laxman family has announced the first-ever RK Laxman Award for Excellence, and Aamir Khan will receive this historic honour. The award ceremony will take place on November 23, 2025, at the MCA Cricket Stadium in Pune, beginning at 5 PM. The evening will also feature a live concert by AR Rahman, turning it into a grand cultural celebration that blends art, music, and storytelling. The event will be streamed live on ManoramaMAX and broadcast on Star Plus, allowing viewers across India to witness the tribute to one of the country’s most beloved creative minds.

Usha Laxman, daughter-in-law of the late cartoonist, shared, “The R.K. Laxman family has organised an AR Rahman live music concert on November 23 at the MCA Cricket Stadium. During the event, we will pay tribute to RK Laxman by instituting the first-ever RK Laxman Award for Excellence.” Confirming Aamir as the inaugural recipient, she added, “This will be the biggest tribute we, as a family, are offering to Laxman.”
