Fans of legendary actor Dharmendra were filled with worry last week after reports emerged that the veteran star had been admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

As concern spread across social media, his wife, actress and politician Hema Malini, has now stepped forward to reassure everyone that he is doing well and recovering comfortably.

On Monday morning, Hema Malini was spotted at the Mumbai airport, where she was asked by photographers about her husband’s health.

Dressed in a soft pink-and-white floral salwar suit, the ever-graceful actress smiled warmly as she stepped out of her car.

When a cameraman asked, “Sir kaise hain (how is sir)?” Hema responded with a simple “okay” gesture — a quiet but reassuring sign that Dharmendra’s condition is stable.

She later folded her hands to thank everyone for their concern and good wishes. The brief moment, captured on video, quickly went viral, offering fans a sense of relief.

The reports of Dharmendra’s hospitalisation had sparked speculation about his health, but close sources have clarified that the 89-year-old actor was admitted only for routine medical check-ups.

“Yes, Dharmendra is currently at Breach Candy Hospital, but there is absolutely no cause for concern. The actor is in good health and visits the hospital often for routine medical tests, which is the reason for his current stay,” the insider explained.

They further added, “Dharmendra undergoes multiple routine tests that usually take around two to three days to complete. Given that he is 89, daily travel can be tiring at this age. Hence, he himself chose to stay at the hospital and finish all the tests at once instead of commuting back and forth each day.”

The actor’s sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, are reportedly staying in constant touch with doctors and keeping close tabs on their father’s progress, even while busy with their respective film shoots.
Dharmendra, one of Indian cinema’s most cherished stars, continues to remain active both personally and professionally.

He was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024) alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, and will next appear in Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis, co-starring Agastya Nanda, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Sikandar Kher.
