One of the most beloved and enduring stars in Indian cinema, Bollywood legend Dharmendra, was admitted to Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital after reportedly suffering from dyspnoea.

As per a report by Times Of India, the 89-year-old actor, who has been adored by generations for his warmth on and off screen, is presently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) under strict medical supervision.

He is stable, according to doctors, and his condition is being closely watched.

Reports state that Dharmendra had first gone to the hospital for a standard physical examination. However, the medical staff chose to keep him under observation after he started to complain of breathing problems.

A hospital staff member confirmed to journalist Vickey Lalwani, “Dharmendra came in complaining of breathlessness. He is in the ICU and is sleeping now.”

Reassuring fans and well-wishers, the representative added, “No, right now nothing to worry. He is stable. His parameters are okay — the heart rate is 70, the blood pressure is 140/80. His urine output is also good.” While doctors continue to monitor him closely, no date has been set for his discharge yet.

Dharmendra’s sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, have reportedly adjusted their professional schedules to stay by their father’s side.

The Deol family has received a wave of love and prayers from fans across the country, with social media flooded with heartfelt messages wishing the actor a speedy recovery.

The veteran star, who turns 90 in December, has faced a few health issues in recent years but remains spirited and active. Earlier this year, in April, he underwent cataract surgery and bounced back quickly. His zest for life and unwavering passion for cinema continue to inspire both fans and fellow actors.

On the professional front, Dharmendra was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024), alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.

He will next be seen in Sriram Raghavan's war drama Ikkis, which is based on the life of India's youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient, Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. The movie, which also stars Sikandar Kher, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Agastya Nanda, is scheduled for release in December 2025.
