Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's close friend and his business partner, Juhi Chawla, recently recalled the time when King Khan used to work 2-3 shifts in a day. She also remembered the time when SRK didn't have a home in Mumbai and now owns houses in almost every city in the world.
Juhi and SRK have worked in many films together, including Darr, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, and Duplicate, to name a few. The two are now the co-owners of IPL team Kolkara Knight Riders, which won the recent IPL tournament.
Juhi Chawla was speaking at an event held by the Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry when she said, “I remember Shah Rukh those days didn't have a home in Mumbai. So, he used to come from Delhi (his hometown). I don't know where he stayed. He used to have tea with the unit (the film crew), eat with the unit, and blend in with the unit seamlessly. He also did 2-3 shifts then. He was doing Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman (1992) with me, Dil Aashna Hai (1992), and another film with Divya (Bharti, Deewana, 1992). He was very driven,” Juhi said.
Talking about how SRK saw difficult times back in the 90s, she said, "He had a black gypsy." But it was taken away one day because he couldn't pay the EMI, or there was something. He came on our set very dejected. I told him, ‘Don’t worry, you'll have many more cars one day.' And he still remembers that. Because it's true. Look at him today," Juhi added.
SRK is now the owner of many luxury cars and stays with his entire family in Mannat, a sea-facing bungalow located in Bandra.
SRK and Juhi were also seen together in Yes Boss (1997), Ram Jaane (1995), Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, and One 2 Ka 4 (2001).
SRK will be next seen in King with his daughter Suhana Khan, whereas Juhi played a small yet effective role in The Railway Men.
