Telugu superstar Jr NTR paid homage to his late grandfather, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), on his 101st birth anniversary. The actor, widely known as Tarak, visited NTR Ghat, the memorial dedicated to the legendary actor-turned-politician, to mark the occasion. The emotional moment was captured on video, which soon went viral, showcasing Jr NTR’s deep respect and love for his grandfather.


Accompanied by his half-brother, Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, Jr NTR was seen at the memorial with folded hands. The two brothers sat on the ground, observing a moment of silence in memory of their grandfather. Despite the crowd around him, Jr NTR remained composed and focused on paying his respects.

The visit to NTR Ghat was not just a private affair; many family members of Jr NTR followed his lead to the memorial. Among those present was NTR’s son, actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna, who also offered his respects at the ghat. The presence of the extended family highlighted the collective admiration and reverence they hold for NTR.

Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, fondly known as NTR, was a monumental figure in Indian cinema and politics. He starred in over 300 movies, leaving an indelible mark on the Telugu film industry. His illustrious career earned him three National Awards. Transitioning from acting, NTR served as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms, showcasing his versatility and leadership.

Jr NTR’s visit to the memorial comes at a busy time in his career. He has several projects in the pipeline, including Ayan Mukerji’s 'War 2,' where he stars alongside Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham. Despite his hectic shooting schedule, the 'RRR' star took time off to be in Hyderabad for the Lok Sabha 2024 elections, casting his vote on May 13. This dedication to both his professional and personal responsibilities underscores Jr NTR’s commitment to his roots and duties.

Another notable project in Jr NTR’s lineup is 'Devara: Part 1,' directed by Koratala Siva. The film, scheduled for a nationwide release on October 10, 2024, boasts a stellar cast, including Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. Marathi actress Shruti Marathe has also been roped in to play Jr NTR’s wife, adding to the film's anticipation.

Jr NTR’s tribute to his grandfather is a poignant reminder of the legacy NTR left behind.
