Chandu Champion directed by Kabir Khan and starring Kartik Aaryan, has shown a strong performance at the box office on its third day, amassing Rs 24.11 crore. The film, a biographical sports drama, began its run on June 14 and has managed to maintain significant momentum despite facing stiff competition.

On its first Sunday, Chandu Champion experienced a remarkable 40% growth, earning Rs 10 crore. This surge brought its three-day total to Rs 21.75 crore. The film opened with Rs 4.75 crore on its first day, followed by Rs 7 crore on Saturday. The steady increase in collections suggests positive word-of-mouth and audience reception. This strong performance is critical as it sets the stage for the film's potential success over the coming days, particularly with the Eid holiday expected to further boost earnings.

The competition for Chandu Champion is notable, with upcoming releases like Nag Ashwin's much-anticipated Kalki 2898 AD, set to premiere on June 27, and the already popular horror-comedy Munjya, which has crossed the Rs 50 crore mark. Despite these challenges, Chandu Champion is holding its ground, largely due to its compelling narrative and strong performances.

Kartik Aaryan's portrayal in Chandu Champion is a significant factor in the film's success. The actor, known for his versatile roles, delivers a convincing performance as the titular character. His previous releases, such as Shehzada and Satyaprem Ki Katha, have also seen substantial box office collections, with Shehzada earning Rs 20.20 crore on its opening weekend and Satyaprem Ki Katha accumulating Rs 37.35 crore. However, Chandu Champion is particularly noteworthy as it marks his second-lowest weekend total since his debut in Pyar Ka Punchnama.

Critical reception has been mixed but leans towards the positive, with India Today awarding the film a 3-star rating. The review highlights Kabir Khan's ability to create a feel-good film that emphasises heroism, perseverance, and realizing one's potential. Despite some clichés, the film's heartfelt narrative and inspiring message resonate well with the audience, contributing to its box office success.

The film also benefits from a strong supporting cast, including Vijay Raaz, Brijendra Kala, Rajpal Yadav, and Bhuvan Arora, who add depth to the story. The ensemble cast, combined with Kabir Khan's direction, ensures that "Chandu Champion" appeals to a wide range of viewers.

Looking ahead, the film's performance during the Eid holiday will be crucial. With increased footfall expected in cinemas, Chandu Champion has the potential to maintain its strong box office run. The positive word-of-mouth and critical acclaim will likely continue to attract audiences, helping the film to sustain its momentum.
