Kartik Aaryan has officially kicked off the shooting of his highly anticipated upcoming film, Naagzilla. The project's banner company, Dharma Productions, led by Karan Johar, released images from Saturday's (November 1) muhurat ceremony.
In the video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Kartik is seen performing the pooja with KJo, director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, and the rest of the team.
A Naagzilla motion poster appears at the end of the clip. Kartik Aaryan's back is featured in an eye-catching shirtless avatar. Interestingly, the texture of the actor's skin resembles snakeskin.
The actor is heard saying in the video, “Insaano wali picturein to bahut dekh li. Ab dekho naago wali picture (We have seen plenty of human movies. Now, let us watch one about snakes).”

The video was accompanied by the caption, “We’re not just rolling…we’re slithering into the world of #Naagzilla! Day 1 was filled with laughter, blessings, positivity and too much fun! In cinemas 14th August, 2026.”
The Muhurat ceremony came just three days after Kartik revealed that he had started shooting the film. He shared a picture of himself with the clapboard and penned in the caption, “1 Year of #Bhool Bhulaiyaa3 Day 1 of #Naagzilla Har Har Mahadev.”
Naagzilla is scheduled to be released in theatres on August 14, 2026.
In addition to this film, Kartik Aaryan is starring in an untitled romantic drama directed by Anurag Basu. Sreeleela, a Telugu actress, makes her Bollywood debut in the film.
