A new TV spot has given fans an exciting first look at Walt Disney Animation Studios’ highly anticipated Moana 2, which features a brand-new song titled “We’re Back.” The epic animated musical adventure is set to release in theatres on November 29, 2024, in both English and Hindi. The sequel reunites Moana (voiced by Auli‘i Cravalho) and Maui (voiced by Dwayne Johnson) for a thrilling new journey.
This time, they team up with an unlikely crew of seafarers for an epic voyage. After receiving an unexpected call from her wayfinding ancestors, Moana embarks on a dangerous mission to the far seas of Oceania, venturing into mysterious, long-lost waters for an adventure unlike any she has experienced before. Additionally, a stunning new poster has been released to build excitement for the film.
The voice cast includes familiar faces, with Rachel House returning as Gramma Tala, Temuera Morrison reprising his role as Chief Tui, and Nicole Scherzinger returning as Sina. The sequel also introduces new characters, including Moni, Kele, and Loto, voiced by Hualālai Chung, David Fane, and Rose Matafeo, respectively. Awhimai Fraser lends her voice to the mysterious Matangi, Gerald Ramsey voices Moana’s ancestor Tautai Vasa, and Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda plays Moana’s adorable little sister, Simea.

Moana 2 is directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, with Christina Chen and Yvett Merino serving as producers. The film’s music is created by a talented team, including Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foa‘i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina. The script is penned by Jared Bush and Dana Ledoux Miller, with executive production by Jennifer Lee, Bush, and Dwayne Johnson.
