Disney’s A Shop for Killers is renewed for Season 2 during a star-studded 2025 Disney+ APAC and Global Content Presentation event, which took place at the Cinderella Ballroom of the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel Conference Centre on November 13.
According to The Chosun Daily, lead actors Lee Dong-wook and Kim Hae-jun, along with director Lee Kwon, attended the event.
The 2024 K-drama A Shop for Killers won praise from critics for its intriguing plot, exciting action, and well-executed story, acting, and direction.
Actor Lee Dong-wook talked about the success of Season 1 and said, “I thought it would do well to some extent, but I didn’t expect this level of success. I’m delighted and grateful that it has done so well, leading to a second season." He added, "The mystery of Jin-man continues into Season 2. The action will be on a larger scale and more intense than in Season 1.”
The actor added, “Frankly, there was more pressure for Season 2. Since Season 1 was so loved, I hoped Season 2 would receive similar acclaim. The director handled both writing and directing, which made me worried. Creating a new story is a burden, so I tried to support the director as much as possible. Since Jian’s role is larger, I tried to relax my mindset."
Meanwhile, Kim Hae-jun expressed his excitement over the upcoming season and said, "I was curious about how the unexplained parts from Season 1 would unfold. While I was excited, I also felt pressure about how Jian should grow in Season 2."

However, the director sent the fans into a frenzy when he discussed the possibility of Season 3.
Director Lee said, "Honestly, I’m not sure. It depends on how Season 2 performs."

He added, "We can’t decide on our own; it’s up to Disney+ executives. The biggest premise is the success of Season 2. If that happens, we might consider it."
The makers also unveiled the new cast joining the sequel. Hyun-ri will play the role of 'Q,' the head of Babylon East Asia's mercenary force.
Hyun-ri is a Korean-Japanese actress who won Best New Actress at the 29th Takasaki Film Festival and achieved international acclaim through television shows like 'Pachinko,' Ryuichi Sakamoto's film 'Coincidence and Imagination,' the Japanese TBS drama 'Eye Love You,' and the HBO drama 'Tokyo Vice' Season 2.
However, Okada Masaki will play the role of Jay, Q's younger brother and co-leader of Babylon East Asia's mercenary team. He is known for his performance as Takasaki Koji in Drive My Car, a film that was nominated for the 94th Academy Awards.
