The actor shared, “I was excited to return to romance. It’s a genre actors are always drawn to. I wanted to try a character who could exist in real life rather than a fantasy setting, and this script gave me that chance.”

Meanwhile, Chun also made a comeback to the romance genre after JTBC’s 2019 series Be Melodramatic.

Talking about her return, she said, “That show is still loved, and I’m grateful for it. While filming ‘My Youth,’ I wondered why I hadn’t done more romance roles. I realized I really enjoy exploring subtle emotional lines in relationships.”

Directed by Lee Sang-yeop, My Youth cast also includes Lee Joo-myung as Mo Tae-rin, Seo Ji-hoon as Kim Seok-ju, Jin Kyung as Kim Pil-doo (Seok-ju’s mother), Jo Han-chul as Sun Chan (Sunwoo Hae’s father), Kim Soo-jin as Su Jin (Sung Je-yeon’s mother) and Yoon Byung-hee as Lee Geon-noh (Sunwoo Hae’s friend).
