Kajol is returning to the big screen with the upcoming supernatural horror film, Maa. The makers have recently created a buzz among the audience with the release of the full-length trailer of the upcoming film on Thursday.
The trailer was shared on the official social media handles of the production house and Kajol. The trailer was accompanied by the caption, “Rakshak. Bhakshak. MAA. The protector. The destroyer. #MaaTrailer out now - link in bio.”

The makers also revealed that Maa will be released in the theatres on June 27 and wrote, “In cinemas 27th June. #MaaTheFilm.”
The trailer starts with Kajol, along with her daughter, driving through a dense forest road. The actress’s daughter then started having period pain, with Kajol assuring her daughter that she would stop the car at a hotel. The trailer then took a dramatic turn and shows a glimpse of a mysterious figure hanging upside down on a tree, and suddenly slams into the glass window.
Kajol and her daughter arrive in Chandanpur, where a dark chapter unfolds. When Kajol discovers a cursed tree believed to be inhabited by evil spirits, Ronit Roy warns her that several girls have gone missing from the area recently. Determined to safeguard her daughter, Kajol vows to protect her from becoming the next victim of the curse.

The trailer also revealed that the upcoming film is from the world of R. Madhavan’s film Shaitaan.
Kajol plays a protective and fierce mother who becomes Kali in order to protect her daughter and to end a demonic curse rooted in fear, blood, and betrayal. Directed by Vishal Furia and produced by Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Subbarayan, Maa also features Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, and Kherin Sharma in the key roles.
Maa is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 27.
